September 2025 Business of The Month: Bannock County Sheriff’s Office

At Porter’s, we love celebrating organizations that make a difference in our community. For September, we are proud to honor the Bannock County Sheriff’s Department as our Business of the Month.

The Bannock County Sheriff’s Office has been a cornerstone of safety and service since its establishment in 1893. Today, with approximately 150 employees, the Office serves more than 87,000 residents throughout Bannock County. Their reach extends beyond the Sheriff’s Office itself, as they assist the police departments of Pocatello, Chubbuck, and Inkom and serve as the sole law enforcement agency for McCammon, Lava Hot Springs, Arimo, and Downey.

Their work goes far beyond patrol. The Bannock County Sheriff’s Office provides a wide range of services to support and protect the community, including:

Search and rescue operations
Jail services

Driver’s licenses & concealed weapons permits
Civil processes
Emergency dispatch

One of their standout accomplishments is introducing the first dual-purpose K-9 program in Idaho – a true testament to their innovation and dedication to community safety.

The Bannock County Sheriff’s Department is more than just a law enforcement agency. They are neighbors, mentors, and first responders who show up when they are needed most. Their hard work and commitment make a lasting impact on the lives of those they serve every single day.
