Brooke’s Wish | Make-A-Wish

I wish to visit Disneyworld | Brooke | 13 | Cystic Fibrosis

At Porter’s Office Products, we have been giving “Blue Cow Service” to our loyal customers for over 100 years. What is Blue Cow Service you ask? It is unique, tailor-fit service for every individual we meet. In most cases, it is involved with new and returning customers we interact with daily, but there are special cases where we get to serve people without giving them paper clips and copy paper. We are great supporters of the Make A Wish foundation whose mission is to, “…grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.” Porter’s Office Products is proud to have assisted several children make their wishes come true through donations. On March 21, 2018, we had the honor of hosting a party at our Main Office in Rexburg where we were able to grant a wish child’s wish personally!

Brooke was born with Cystic Fibrosis. According to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, “Cystic fibrosis is a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time.” About every 1 and 3,500 babies are born with CF which amazingly enough makes it one of the more common genetic diseases. At thirteen, Brooke is living life to the fullest! She enjoys sewing and loves spending time with her family. When asked what she would like to do for her wish, she said she would either like to go to Disneyworld, so that she can make memories with her family or she would love to have a sewing machine. How cute is that! We are so proud of Brooke and so excited to grant her a wish! Which wish would you think we helped come true?

The family of eight came to our office on March 21, 2018 looking excited and ready for the big wish reveal. Our wonderful employee, Victoria, created a fun trivia game for Brooke to win puzzle pieces that would in the end reveal what wish would be granted. The trivia consisted of fun Disney movie questions, and more of Brooke’s interests like, “Which breed of dog, known for hunting has a water-proof coat, it comes in yellow, black, chocolate?” We had so much fun! As Brooke added the last piece to the puzzle, She read it out loud, “DISNEY APRIL 21”! Vickie then presented a gift from the Porter’s employees; cute, homemade Minnie Mouse ears to wear while she is at Disneyworld. Did we mention that Brooke would spend her 14th birthday in Disneyworld? We all had a great time and feel very blessed to have been a part of this special time for Brooke and her family. We highly recommend for all who have the opportunity or means to support a wish child and help make their dreams come true.
