Kristy’s journey with Porter’s is one of deep-rooted commitment and continuous evolution. Her career with the Porter family began decades ago when she managed Porter’s Craft and Frame, the beloved craft store owned by Mark Porter’s parents. For years, she built relationships, fostered creativity, and upheld the values that define Porter’s. When the craft store closed, Kristy seamlessly transitioned into Porter’s Office Products, bringing with her an unwavering dedication to service and leadership.
In the five years since she made that transition, Kristy has been involved in nearly every aspect of the company. From warehouse operations to management, she has worked tirelessly to ensure that Porter’s remains a company defined by excellence, adaptability, and care for both employees and customers.
More Than a Leader—A True Supporter
Kristy isn’t just a leader; she’s everyone’s biggest supporter. We often joke that she’s not just HR—she’s also our resident therapist. She’s always there for us, cheering us on, lifting us up, and motivating us to do our best. She is kind, compassionate, and always willing to stand up for her team.
A personal story from our Brand Manager, Bekah, that speaks to her warmth and kindness: “When I interviewed to work at Porter’s, my interview with Kristy went over by a bit because we just chatted. My husband, who was a driver at the time, told me that Kristy must really like me because of that! From the moment I stepped into the interview, she made me feel welcome, and that hasn’t changed since.”
Stepping into a New Role
With years of hands-on experience and a deep understanding of Porter’s inner workings, Kristy is the perfect fit for her new role as Integrator. According to Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), “An Integrator is a person who orchestrates the major functions of an organization. This is the person who manages day-to-day issues and holds the organization’s people, processes, systems, priorities, and strategies together.”
