Introducing Taylor: The New Face of Porter’s Furniture Innovation

Posted by

At Porter’s Office Products, we’re excited to introduce our new furniture designer, Taylor! With a background full of energy and a love for creativity, Taylor has been a valuable addition to our team. Since starting just three months ago, he’s already demonstrated a passion for helping customers. He loves to create functional and beautiful spaces while embracing our office’s fun and fast-paced environment.

A Unique Journey to Porter’s

When asked what drew him to Porter’s, Taylor said he was looking for something different from the typical Rexburg jobs. Interestingly, his connection to the company goes way back—his dad worked for Porter’s Craft and Frame in the early 2000s. For Taylor, it wasn’t just the family ties that piqued his interest. The opportunity to work in a dynamic and customer-focused environment felt like a refreshing change.

He originally started as a furniture associate, where his role involved a mix of retail and furniture-related tasks. However, as the company evolved, so did his responsibilities. “It’s been a bit of a roller coaster,” he said, reflecting on the various changes that have taken place. But for Taylor, that’s a good thing. He loves the challenge and excitement of tackling different projects and enjoys the diversity of daily tasks. In his new role as a furniture designer, Taylor is ready to take on even more responsibility. He’s ready to help you make the best choices for your space.

Passion for People and Design

We asked Taylor a fun question to help you get to know him better: If you could be any office supply, what would you be? His answer? A pen. He explained, “While it might seem basic, it’s full of endless possibilities.” This thoughtful response mirrors his approach to design. Just like a pen can bring ideas to life on paper, Taylor is eager to create functional spaces that are full of potential, inspiring creativity and productivity in every office.

One thing that truly stands out about Taylor is his dedication to customer service. He’s not just about making a sale—he’s about finding the perfect solution for each client’s unique needs. He loves working with people and takes great pride in providing excellent service. This is a cornerstone of our Blue Cow Service philosophy. For Taylor, Blue Cow Service means treating each customer like a person, not a number. “We’re not a machine or a cookie-cutter service. We’re here to really help people,” he explains.

Taylor’s approach is to keep things fun and lighthearted, making choosing furniture enjoyable for everyone involved. He believes in building genuine connections with customers and colleagues, seeing each interaction as an opportunity to make someone’s day a little brighter.

Staying Organized and Inspired

Regarding staying on top of his many projects, Taylor is all about organization. He keeps track of everything on paper, ensuring he gets all the details. “Staying organized is key,” he says. Whether designing a new office layout or assisting a client with selecting ergonomic chairs, he approaches each task with a clear focus on getting things done efficiently.

Taylor’s Life Outside of Design

When Taylor isn’t designing functional office spaces, he’s immersing himself in his other passions. A true cinephile, he’s fascinated by film production and how movies are made. He’s studying film, which gives him a keen eye for details—breaking down how a scene is shot or analyzing the intricacies of stunts in action-adventure films. For him, movies like Lord of the Rings, with their practical effects, and the high-energy stunts of James Bond are perfect examples of storytelling done right.

Outside of his love for film, Taylor is also an avid outdoorsman. He enjoys hiking and exploring Idaho’s natural beauty. This makes the area around Rexburg a perfect fit for his love of spontaneous adventures. Whether hitting the trails or shooting hoops, basketball is his sport of choice. Despite his humble disclaimer that it’s “controversial,” Taylor proudly roots for the LA Lakers, a passion that started when he was just in kindergarten. He’s been a loyal fan ever since.

Regarding downtime, Taylor enjoys hanging out with friends and roommates, whether watching a movie, driving, playing board games, or just chatting. While he likes having structure, he also embraces the spontaneous opportunities that life, especially college life, offers, making him someone who’s always ready for whatever adventure comes next.

A New Era for Furniture at Porter’s

Taylor’s enthusiasm and fresh perspective make him the perfect fit for our furniture department.
